Khamal Howard, East Mecklenburg: Ran 38 times for 240 yards and two touchdowns in Monday’s 28-18 victory at North Mecklenburg. East Meck was down 12-0 on the road before Howard got going.
Cole Ladowski, Lake Norman: Was 19-for-32 passing for 208 yards and two touchdowns in Friday’s 34-21 upset victory over Hough, then ranked No. 2 in the Observer’s Sweet 16 poll. Ladowski also ran 12 times for 33 yards including a short run that tied the game with 70 seconds left and set up John McCue’s game-winning PAT.
Sage Surratt, Lincolnton: In Friday’s 61-34 win over North Gaston, Surratt caught eight passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Surratt became just the fourth N.C. public school player to collect more than 4,000 receiving yards. He has 4,064. Former Independence star Mohamed Massaquoi (4,876) is the all-time leader.
Gabe Montgomery, Providence Day: Had 17 carries for 268 yards, four touchdowns in Friday’s 44-0 victory over Carolina Pride.

Derion Kendrick, Rock Hill South Pointe: Was 27-of-40 passing for 373 yards and a score in a 30-23 come-from-behind victory over Rock Hill Saturday.
Merrick Haston, Nicco Crew, Ardrey Kell: In Thursday’s 36-34 come-from-behind victory at Marvin Ridge, Hastings ran 24 times for 210 yards and a score. He also caught two passes for 60 yards and a score. Crew rushed 20 times for 122 yards and three touchdowns.
