The Charlotte region’s high school football players of the week for games played Oct. 14:
Sage Surratt, Lincolnton: Senior had five touchdown receptions in a 48-0 victory over Bunker Hill. With 64 career touchdown catches, Surratt is 12 off the all-time career record of 76 held by former Independence standout Mohamed Massaquoi. Surratt could play as many as eight more games.
Nolan Groulx, Sam Hartman, Chase Monroe, Davidson Day: Hartman was 24-of-34 for 343 yards and four touchdowns in Friday’s 50-6 rout of Statesville Christian (6-2). Groulx caught a school-record 17 passes for 209 yards, three touchdowns and a two-point conversion. His receiving yardage is sixth in school history and 24th best in Mecklenburg County history. Monroe had 28 tackles.
Kyle Holcomb, Mountain Island Charter: 11-for-13 for 474 yards and seven touchdowns in a 63-0 victory over the Carolina Gladiators Friday. He averaged 43 yards per pass.

Jacob Irby, Concord: Senior QB led his team to five unanswered touchdowns in Friday’s 35-8 victory over Carson. He completed 17-of-23 passes for 242 yards, season highs in completions and yardage.
Kingsley Ifedi, Vance: Threw for 202 yards, two touchdowns in a 38-21 victory over Mallard Creek. He also ran for two touchdowns.
Luke Hefferly, Jaylen Irwin, Ardrey Kell: Completed 20-of-30 passes for 314 yards and four scores, and he added a rushing touchdown in a 34-16 victory over arch rival Providence. Irvin caught six passes for 170 yards and two scores.
Worth Page, Providence: Senior linebacker had 11 solo tackles and four assists against Ardrey Kell.
