As the N.C. High School Athletic Association boys’ soccer playoffs begin, Weddington remains atop the Observer’s Sweet 16 poll.
Weddington (18-1-1) has been No. 1 for nearly two months. The Warriors, who play Western Guilford on Wednesday at home, haven’t lost since Aug. 21 and have won 17 straight games.
Statesville climbed three spots to No. 2, and Hough jumped two spots to No. 3. Garinger, a former No. 1, moved from No. 7 to No. 4.
