Rock Hill South Pointe beat Hartsville 21-7 in the S.C. 3A championship Saturday and ended Hartsville’s unbeaten season.
South Pointe (12-3) held Hartsville more than 35 points under its season average and jumps back in the Observer’s Sweet 16 poll at No. 14.
Mallard Creek remained at No. 1 and Charlotte Catholic moved from No. 3 to No. 2, leapfrogging private school champ Charlotte Christian, after reaching a sixth state final in 10 seasons Friday.
