Two Charlotte-area high school football stars will play in the U.S. Army All-American game Jan. 17 in San Antonio.
Boiling Springs Crest linebacker Justin Foster and Concord’s Hamsah Nasirildeen were selected to the game, which brings together many of the nation’s top high school seniors. The all-star is televised live nationally by NBC.
Foster was presented his jersey in a special ceremony at school Monday. Nasirildeen will be honored in a ceremony Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Concord High.
The Army All-American game consistently draws an annual crowd of more than 40,000 to the Alamodome and is the most-watched high school sporting event of each year, with 4.3-million viewers tuning in to the 2016 NBC broadcast.
Foster committed to Clemson last month, chosing the Tigers over Georgia and Tennessee. Nasirildeen has committed to South Carolina.
