Jake Hager hit a three-run home run in the second inning, leading the Durham Bulls to a 9-2 win over the host Charlotte Knights on Wednesday.
The home run by Hager scored Casey Gillaspie and Michael McKenry to give the Bulls a 3-0 lead.
After Durham added two runs in the fourth, the Knights cut into the deficit in the fourth inning when Tyler Ladendorf hit a two-run home run.
The Bulls later added three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to finish off the blowout.
Durham southpaw Ryan Yarbrough (3-2) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on four hits over six innings.
Knights starter Carson Fulmer (5-2) took the loss in the International League game after a rough outing in which he allowed eight runs and six hits over 4 2/3 innings.
Durham improved to 5-2 against Charlotte this season.
