The Charlotte Knights lost the second game of a four-game series against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Friday, 3-2.
Despite a sub-.500 record (38-45), the Knights remain in first place in the International League’s South Division. Lehigh Valley is 47-35.
Nick Williams homered for Lehigh Valley to open the bottom of the eighth inning and take the 3-2 lead that won the game.
The Knights had tied the score at 2 in the top of the eighth when Leury Garcia tripled and came in on Jason Bourgeois’ sac fly. They caught up in the fifth at 1-1 when Vinny Rottino singled home Jake Peter.

The series continues Saturday at 6:35 p.m., with Anthony Ranaudo (4-2, 2.68 ERA) scheduled to pitch for Charlotte. Ben Lively (3-1, 3.11) will take the mound for the IronPigs.
