NASCAR Sprint Cup: Duck Commander 500 time, TV, facts

04/03/2014 8:42 PM

04/03/2014 11:58 PM

What: 334 laps or 501 miles

Where: Texas Motor Speedway, a 1.5-mile banked quad-oval in Fort Worth, Texas.

When: 3 p.m. Sunday

TV: Fox

Radio: Performance Racing Network

Last year’s winner: Kyle Busch

Also this week: O’Reilly Auto Parts 300, Nationwide Series, Texas Motor Speedway, 8:30 p.m. Friday, ESPN2.

Worth mentioning: This season’s spring NASCAR race weekend at Texas has a different schedule as a result of the NCAA men’s Final Four being played this weekend in nearby Arlington. Instead of the Cup race being Saturday night – which would conflict with the tournament semifinals – the race was moved to Sunday. The Cup race is expected to return to a Saturday night event next season.

Who’s Hot/

Who’s Not

Kurt Busch: Quickly moving back among the sport’s elite.

Jimmie Johnson: He did everything but win Sunday, but everything won’t necessarily get you in the Chase.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Could his last season with crew chief Steve Letarte end up his best?

Richard Petty Motorsports: Both drivers among the top 10 for the second time in three races.

Paul Menard: Looks to be the best at Richard Childress Racing right now.

Matt Crafton: Last season’s Truck series champion already on board this year with a victory.

Weather: Bad weather has impacted at least part of four of the six NASCAR race weekends.

Parker Kligerman: The Cup series rookie has very bad luck but retains a very good attitude.

Danica Patrick: Her best start of the season ended in one of her worst results.
