• The busiest guy in the first half Friday might have been Bobcats head athletic trainer Steve Stricker. It wasn’t a big thing initially when he went back to the locker room to re-tape Kemba Walker’s left ankle. Then things got more serious when Michael Kidd-Gilchrist took a frightening fall to the floor after a collision with the Magic’s Dewayne Dedmon.

It was reminiscent of what happened in Houston last season when Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a concussion. This time, he had a bruised back.

• Power forward Josh McRoberts will miss his third straight game Saturday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
• Al Jefferson is having lots of fun with the “Big Al’s Paint” campaign the Bobcats are using to promote his All-NBA candidacy. The bits they’re doing on the scoreboard during timeouts are a hoot.
• Magic center Nikola Vucevic was a late scratch. He reportedly had Achilles soreness and didn’t want to risk aggravating the injury.
