Nine players who didn’t hear their name called during last weekend’s NFL draft have agreed to terms with the Carolina Panthers.
The team announced the undrafted free-agent class headlined by Ohio State wide receiver Corey “Philly” Brown.
Brown caught 63 passes for 771 yards and 10 touchdowns for the Buckeyes last season, and he either led or was tied for the team lead in receiving yards in each of his final three seasons with Ohio State.
Along with Brown, the Panthers signed linebacker Denicos Allen (Michigan State), cornerback Carrington Byndom (Texas), linebacker Adarius Blanton (Florida Atlantic), wide receiver Marcus Lucas (Missouri), guard Andrew Norwell (Ohio State), running back Darring Reaves (Alabama-Birmingham), defensive tackle Squad Rowell (West Virginia) and center Jared Wheeler (Miami).
Those nine players will join the Panthers’ six draft picks, a handful of young players on the roster and 25-35 invited tryout players for this weekend’s rookie minicamp.
Among the invited players expected to attend are former West Virginia running back Noel Devine, McNeese State quarterback Corey Stroud and University of Montreal offensive lineman David Foucault.
