The Carolina Panthers doubled the size of their Canadian club Monday, signing former University of Montreal offensive lineman David Foucault.

Foucault, who attended last weekend's rookie minicamp as a tryout player, is a 6-7, 300-pound tackle who grew up playing hockey in Quebec.

Foucault (pronounced foo-KOH) was the No. 5 overall pick in the CFL draft, by the Montreal Alouettes. He joins Panthers second-year defensive tackle Linden Gaydosh, the top overall pick in the 2013 CFL draft.

The Panthers also signed punter Jordan Gay, who was with them during the preseason last year.

They waived three offensive linemen – Travis Bond, Mike Jasper and Phillipkeith Manley.
