NBA MVP Stephen Curry will show his hometown pride and support pal Cam Newton on Saturday night by wearing blue Under Armor shoes during the Golden State Warriors game.
The Charlotte-native and three-time NBA All-Star has his own line of Under Armor “Curry Two’s,” including one called “Providence Road” which pays homage to his hometown.
The San Jose Mercury News reported Friday that Curry has six tickets to the Super Bowl game and plans to take his family. Curry will wear a custom Under Armor shirt that shows him banging the Panthers’ “Keep Pounding” drum, the newspaper reported.
This week in California, quarterback Newton has worn his customized pair of Curry Two basketball shoes, designed by Devlin Braswell. The set is special for the Panthers’ Super Bowl appearance and the shoe features a tongue that unzips to reveal the logo Newton’s revitalized with his end zone celebrations: Super Man.
Both Newton and Curry have endorsement deals with Under Armor.
The Warriors play Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday at 9 p.m. in Oakland, Calif.
