Carolina defensive end Tyler Brayton set the tone for a swarming day by the defense with his sack of quarterback Damon Huard, forcing a fumble the Chiefs recovered at their 3-yard line.

9:51 Remaining In Second Period
The Panthers made the perfect call to counter a blitz by the Chiefs. Quarterback Jake Delhomme threw a swing pass to running back DeAngelo Williams, who was so wide open he almost could have walked into the end zone for his 25-yard touchdown.

Twenty-six seconds Remaining In First Half
Williams scored his third TD of the day, bursting through a huge hole and running 32 yards into the end zone give the Panthers a 21-0 halftime lead.

14:47 Remaining in Third Quarter
Defensive end Julius Peppers got the second half off to a roaring start with a sack and forced fumble (recovered by Damione Lewis) to give the Panthers the ball at the Kansas City 28-yard line.

Who says Muhsin Muhammad doesn't have breakaway speed anymore? He outran Kansas City defenders to the end zone for a TD on a 47-yard pass play.

33 Seconds Remaining In The Game
The Chiefs faced a fourth-and-1 at the Carolina 22. The game wasn't on the line, but the Panthers' shutout attempt was. The defense camp up big, as linebacker Jon Beason and safety Nate Salley stopped Kansas City running back Dantrell Savage for no gain to preserve the shutout.
