What: World of Outlaws race and World Finals
When: Today-Saturday
Where: The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway, Concord.
The World of Outlaws Late Model Series race, postponed from last month's NASCAR race weekend at LMS because of bad weather, was rescheduled for tonight. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.
Tonight's race will be followed by three days of the World of Outlaws World Finals, which will decide the championships in the WoO Late Model and Sprint Car series.
The three-way battle for the Sprint car championship – among reigning champion Donny Schatz, Jason Meyers and Joey Saldana, is the closest in series history. Schatz and Meyers are separated by 19 points. Saldana, who won at The Dirt Track @ LMS in May, has won a series-best 19 A-Features this season and is 46 points out of the lead.
Two rounds of qualifying begin on Thursday that will set the heat race line-ups for the racing programs on Friday and Saturday nights.
Tickets previously purchased for the October Late Model race will be honored tonight. For more ticket information for the World Finals, call (800) 455-FANS.
