FORT WORTH, Texas Jones moved to San Antonio
to finish her 6-month sentence
Former U.S. track star Marion Jones has been moved from a federal prison in Fort Worth and will serve the rest of her sentence in San Antonio.
The disgraced Olympic star was sentenced to six months in prison in January for lying to federal agents about her use of performance-enhancing drugs and a check-fraud scam.
Jones also was ordered to do 400 hours of community service in each of the two years following her release.
Federal Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman Traci Billingsley says Jones was transferred to a community corrections center in San Antonio on Tuesday.
The Dallas Morning News reported Friday the transfer is part of the process toward the Sept. 5 scheduled release of Jones. She entered prison in early March. President Bush has not acted on requests, on behalf of Jones, to commute her sentence. Jones repeatedly denied that she used performance-enhancing drugs, then admitted last October she lied to investigators in November 2003.
NBA
A Meadville, Pa., woman who said Michael Jordan fathered her son is still in jail because a judge says she hasn't promised not to bother the former NBA star.
A judge barred Lisa Miceli, 35, from contacting Jordan, his family or representatives. But the judge who jailed Miceli last week says a letter she wrote promising to comply wasn't good enough. In an order Thursday, the judge says Miceli will serve all of her two- to six-month contempt sentence unless she writes another letter “that states without question” she'll follow the order.
Jordan, managing member of basketball operations for the Charlotte Bobcats, sued Miceli this year to enforce a 2005 agreement to stop contacting him after two DNA tests showed he wasn't the boy's father.

The Boston Celtics signed forward
Darius Miles, who missed the past two seasons because of knee injuries. General manager
