Welcome to winter. A rain/snow mix fell on Kidd Brewer Stadium for much of the game as temperatures plunged toward freezing as the sun went down. It was windy – and it wasn't a balmy breeze, either.
Appalachian State coach
Jerry Moore limped into his postgame news conference. Elon cornerback
Cameron McGlenn accidentally hit Moore's thigh with his helmet on a play that ended on the Mountaineers' sideline. “When's the training room open?” Moore said. “I guess this old sucker's tough. I don't know if I can play tomorrow or not. I was an easy target for him. I'm not very quick.”
Mountaineers' safety
Mark LeGree intercepted a pass in the second quarter, his ninth of the season. That leads the nation and set an Appalachian single-season record.
