Kyle Shelton, who starred at South Mecklenburg, homered and tripled, and Kyle Seager (Northwest Cabarrus) added a double, a triple and scored two runs for North Carolina.

MARYLAND 6-1, No. 19 N.C. STATE 2-12: Jake Buchanan tossed a complete-game five-hitter and Jeremy Synan and Nick Stanley belted three-run home runs as the Wolfpack (34-16, 16-9 ACC) won the second game of a doubleheader at Maryland (29-25, 9-20).
No. 23 KENTUCKY 5, TENNESSEE 2: Aaron Lovett came on in relief of starter James Paxton in the third and worked six innings allowing two runs to help the Wildcats (37-14, 13-13 SEC) at Tennessee (25-26, 11-15).
No. 24 COASTAL CAROLINA 17, HIGH POINT 8: The host Chanticleers (40-11, 14-3, Big South) hit five home runs, three by David Anderson, to rout High Point (18-29, 8-9 Big South).
GEORGIA TECH 7, CLEMSON 1: Eddie Burns pitched eight strong innings and Jeff Rowland and Luke Murton each had two RBIs to lead the host Yellow Jackets (36-14, 14-12 ACC) against Clemson (25-25, 10-18).
WAKE FOREST 3, DUKE 1: Willy Fox's two-run homer in the third broke a 1-1 tie, lifting host Wake (21-27, 10-15 ACC) past Duke (34-16-1, 8-16-1).
APPALACHIAN STATE 14, FURMAN 3: David Towarnicky went 4-for-4 and drove in four runs to propel the host Mountaineers (28-23, 12-11 Southern) against Furman (29-19, 15-8).
NORFOLK STATE 9, GARDNER-WEBB 5: Brad Stephenson hit a grand slam and John Boyd III homered on the next pitch in the fifth for Norfolk State (21-20). The Spartans added two in the ninth to secure the win at Gardner-Webb (23-26).
