Ex-Bobcats coach gets new job

Vincent, fired after one season in Charlotte, will lead Development League team in Anaheim, Calif.

ANAHEIM, Calif. Sam Vincent, fired in April after one season as coach of the Charlotte Bobcats, has been hired as coach of the Anaheim Arsenal of the NBA Development League.

Struggling to find a consistent rotation and clashing with players, Vincent led the Bobcats to a 32-50 record before being let go by Michael Jordan, his former teammate with the Chicago Bulls.

Vincent's coaching experience included a one-year stint as an assistant with the Dallas Mavericks in 2006-07. He previously coached in the D-League with the Mobile Revelers, guiding them to the championship title in 2001-02. Vincent also coached the Fort Worth Flyers in 2005-06.

Vincent played seven years in the NBA, including a championship with the Boston Celtics in 1985.

Bulls, former Duke star Deng agree on contract extension

Restricted free agent forward Luol Deng and the Chicago Bulls have agreed to six-year contract that could be worth as much as $80million.

The Bulls e-mailed a news release Wednesday afternoon announcing the “contract signing of Luol Deng.” No details on the deal were released.

Deng, a former Duke star, averaged 17 points and 6.3 rebounds last season. He also shot 47.9 percent from the field.

EXHIBITIONS: League champion CSKA Moscow will join two other Euroleague teams in playing exhibition games against NBA opponents this season, the NBA announced.

FC Barcelona and Lietuvos Rytas of Lithuania also will appear on the Euroleague American tour, which features five games from Oct. 10-21.
