Police are looking for the person who shot and seriously wounded a man on Thursday morning near Statesville Avenue in north Charlotte.
The first call to police came at 9:50, said Captain William Boger. Passersby heard shots, and police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Whittington Street.
Investigators found a Hispanic male, shot in the upper torso area. The man, whose name was not released, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with what police say were serious injuries.
Police searched the area but have no suspects at this time, Boger said.
