A cult-favorite burger joint put together by a professional skateboarder and a chef with Michelin-starred chops is opening in uptown Charlotte this week.
NADC Burger — which stands for “Not a Damn Chance” — plans to open its fast-casual outpost at The Alley at Latta Arcade on Friday, Oct. 24. Right now, customers can only get a taste in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas or Denver, or in the Texas cities of Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth.
Chef Phillip Frankland Lee of Los Angeles-based Scratch Restaurants Group, known for Michelin-starred concepts Sushi by Scratch and Pasta|Bar, is partners with professional skateboarder Neen Williams in NADC Burger, which offers an uber simple menu and incorporates a skater vibe.
Look for its signature burger, made with two Wagyu beef patties that are seared on a flat-top with grilled onions, a layer of melted American cheese, house-made secret sauce, pickles and tamed jalapeños on a toasted potato roll.
NADC Burger’s sides include beef tallow fries that you can upgrade with toppings for a “Beast Mode” version, signature brown butter chocolate chip cookies and drinks.
“Charlotte shows up for great food and great people,” Williams said in a news release. “We built NADC Burger to be the ultimate backyard burger, and I’m thrilled to bring that flavor and our vision to the Queen City as our first Southeast outpost.”
