The Reading Life

Celia Rivenbark, a good 'ol girl raised in Duplin County, is a very funny writer. In her new book, “Belle Weather: Mostly Sunny with a Chance of Scattered Hissy Fits” ($21.95, St. Martin's), she shares her advice to Britney Spears, explains the difference between cockroaches and water bugs and reveals how to avoid loser-quality granite when you remodel your kitchen. She'll be in town at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Park Road Books, 4139 Park Road.
