Las Ramblas marks 2nd anniversary with lots of deals

¡Fiesta Las Ramblas is how Las Ramblas (2400 Park Road) plans to thank Charlotte for its first two years in business. That means from 4-8 p.m. Nov. 13, you'll get menu items at half-price; $1 wines, beers and sangria; and half-price martinis. Let 'em know you're coming at 704-335-8444.

Owen's Bagel & Deli (2041 South Blvd.), through Nov. 4, offers a free fountain soda or coffee to those who come in wearing an “I voted early” sticker. As its press release says, “It isn't a redistribution or a hoarding of wealth … but it is a free beverage and we hope you'll stop in for it.”

Thanksgiving at Ballantyne

Ballantyne Resort (10000 Ballantyne Commons Parkway) hosts Thanksgiving Brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with carving stations, salads, regional sides and desserts for $48.95 per person, $25.95 for those 7-12, $7.95 for those 3-6, and free for those younger than 3. Turkey to-go in Fort Mill

Longitude 81 (971 Gold Hill Road, Fort Mill) offers a take-home Thanksgiving menu serving 8 to 10 for $175. Included are potato-leek soup, a 12-pound turkey, a honey-baked spiral ham, maple mashed sweet potatoes, sautéed Brussels sprouts, sausage and wild mushroom stuffing, giblet gravy, cranberry chutney, a pumpkin pecan pie and an apple pie. Pickup is 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, and you must order by Nov. 22 at 803-802-9981.

Autumn menu at Firenze

Firenze (6414 Rea Road) has a new autumn menu, including dishes such as roasted portobellos with goat cheese and balsamic reduction; egg fettuccine with wild boar ragu; spinach ravioli with butter and sage; chicken with wild mushrooms, artichokes and speck; roasted rack of lamb with pecorino and breadcrumb crust; and more.

Talk on food traditions

“Global Dish: Real Country Cooking” comes to the Levine Museum of the New South Nov. 6, with author Dori Sanders and Observer reporter Dan Huntley offering thoughts and food from Carolina folk traditions both black and white. $30 for Museum members, $35 for nonmembers, includes dinner, wine and program.
