A peek at the gallery crawl

Check out these interesting exhibitions tonight in South End and NoDa during the gallery crawls.

Green Rice Gallery

451 E. 36th St.

When Noda's Green Rice Gallery invited their artists to bring pieces for "A Few of My Favorite Things," on view through Jan. 30, each work of art had to be accompanied by a written explanation of why it's a favorite. From 7 to 9 p.m., you can see the art, talk to the artists and enjoy a wine tasting by World Premiere Wines from a collection of South African wines. (Parking behind building.)

Providence Gallery

601 Providence Road. 704-333-4535, www.providencegallery.net.

"Holiday Square Works Show" with a reception for the artists, 6-9 p.m., features over 150 original, square-format works by 80 artists from across the Carolinas. On display through Jan. 30.
