Mark Packer returns to the airwaves

Mark Packer returns to the airwaves Friday, this time on satellite radio.

Packer, who left WFNZ-AM ("Fan" 610) at the end of 2010 after 13 years with the station, will host of "College Basketball Today," airing on XM radio's College Sports Nation channel noon to 3 p.m. weekdays.

Packer said Thursday the show will feature interviews with top collegiate coaches and players. Joining him on the show will be former stars Kenny Anderson of Georgia Tech, Jim Jackson of Ohio State and ex-coach Tom Brennan.

Packer, whose non-compete agreement keeps him off Charlotte radio stations until July, says he is also working on other broadcast opportunities. He plans to remain based in Charlotte.
