"Billy the Exterminator," in which pest control expert Billy Bretherton battles all kinds of varmits, will air an episode shot in Charlotte at 10 p.m. today on the A&E cable network.
Bretherton worked with Diana Travis and MaryAnn Mueller of Charlotte's Goose Busters to control the geese population in the episode, which was shot in April.
"One of the geese smashed an umbrella he was using for defense," said Travis. "They'll hurt if they hit you."
Goose Busters uses border collies to run off unwanted geese. During the spring nesting season, they rub corn oil on eggs to prevent them from developing, a tactic endorsed by the Humane Society.
