Opening night for the annual Halloween Haunt, which features seven haunted mazes, five outdoor scare zones, two live shows and more than 500 prowling monsters. A new Haunt Pass ($55) allows unlimited admission to SCarowinds through Nov. 1.

NHRA Carolina Nationals

The best drag racers in the world will compete head-to-head in old-school, side-by-side drag racing during the three-day event, which kicks off the NHRA Mellow Yello Drag Racing Series’ Countdown to the Championship.
