I did not like ‘The Girl on the Train’

I do not like green eggs and ham, and I did not like Paula Hawkins’s “The Girl on the Train.”

I did not.

I took the No. One bestselling novel with me on vacation, and I couldn’t wait to burrow into it. Friends had told me they could not put it down.

I did not like the back-and-forth chronology, though I could see how clever it must’ve felt to the author to plan it out.

I did not like the constant switch in narrator, though I could see how clever it must’ve felt to the author to plan that out, too.

I thought each character sounded alike.

I did not like the male characters. I did not like the female characters.

I do not like green eggs and ham, and I did not like “The Girl on the Train.”
