Serafina meets new challenges in sequel

Take a bow, Robert Beatty of Asheville.

“Serafina and the Twisted Staff,” the sequel to “Serafina and the Black Cloak,” is Number Four on the New York Times bestseller list for Children’s Middle Grade Hardcover books. And “Serafina and the Black Cloak,” which came out last year, is Number Eight on the Middle Grade Softcover books.

Doesn’t get much better than that.

As most of the young world knows, the novels for readers ages 8-12, are set in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate. Still not wild enough to survive in the forest, neither is Serafina tame enough to feel quite settled at home. Yes, Serafina and her friend Braeden have defeated the black cloak. But have they banished evil from Biltmore?

Not a chance.

Oh, my! I have a young grandson who is just going to devour these two books.
