This month’s free concert features Scott Ainslie, a traditional acoustic blues singer, guitarist, historian and songwriter with personal roots in the civil rights era and a great commitment to cross-cultural exchange. He is a powerful musician, a fine singer and a masterful storyteller. Doors open at 7. Refreshments, a song circle and jam sessions follow the concert. Donations will be accepted.

Presented by Ink Floyd, Neighborhood Theatre and Maxx Music, the show features the local band Ancient Cities, as well as Clear Plastic Masks, Batsheet and Triptych Collective. Doors open at 8. The event is open to all ages. Ancient Cities will release a new live EP at the show.
Kids museum for free
At Family Day Saturday at the Bechtler, admission is free for kids and $8 for adults (get $2 off if you have a ticket to the 11 a.m. Charlotte Symphony Lollipops concert at the Knight Theater).
