Charlotte-area dining notes

JP Charlotte

JP Charlotte at The Westin (601 S. College St.) will host a Teddy Bear Tea from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. A choice of teas, coffees, savories and sweets as well as cookie and ornament decorating for kids, story time with Mrs. Claus and photos with Santa are included in the price of $45 for adults with alcohol or $38 without and $28 for children ages 2 and up. One adult and one child can be booked together for $70. Young attendees will get to adopt a teddy bear during the event. Reservations: 704-335-2064.

Also: A Christmas brunch buffet featuring omelets, seafood, crepes, carving stations and a children’s buffet will be served at JP Charlotte from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Dec. 25. Cost is $54 for adults and $24 for children ages 6 - 12. Kids 5 and under eat free. Reservations: 704-335-2064.


Passion8 (1523 Elizabeth Ave.) will host an Ugly Sweater party at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails are $25 per person. Also: A Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes will be held here 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 24. The seven-course fish-based menu is $75 per person; an a la carte menu will also be available from 5-8 p.m. Reservations: 704-910-3161.

The Pump House

The Pump House (575 Herrons Ferry Road, Rock Hill) will serve a four-course, prix fixe meal from 5-11 p.m. on Christmas Eve for $40 per person. Reservations: 803-329-8888.


Chef Chris Coleman will serve a Christmas Day feast at Stoke (100 W. Trade St.) on Dec. 25. Choose from three seatings: 2:30, 5 or 7 p.m. Cost of $50 per person includes appetizers, entrees and dessert. Reservations: 704-353-6005.

BLT Steak

A prix fixe menu will be offered for dinner starting at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 2 p.m. on Christmas Day. A choice of a starter, entrée, side, and dessert is $60. Reservations: 704-972-4380.


Morton’s (227 W. Trade St.) will be open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 4-9 p.m. Its regular menu will be available as well as a steak and lobster tail special for $55. Reservations: 704-333-2602.

Blue Restaurant & Bar

Blue (206 N. College St.) will serve Christmas Eve dinner from 5-9 p.m. on Dec. 24. The three-course menu is $39.95 and live holiday music will be featured from 6-9 p.m. Reservations: 704-927-2583.


Stagioni (715 Providence Road) will serve a five-course, family-style dinner on Christmas Eve. Cost is $65 for adults and $25 for children ages 5 -12. Seatings begin at 5 p.m. Reservations: 704-372-8110.

The Asbury

The Asbury (235 N. Tryon St.) will offer a three-course, prix fixe menu with two seatings on Christmas Day for $55 per person. Reservations: 704-342-1193.

Good Food on Montford

Good Food (1701 Montford Drive) will serve Christmas Eve dinner from 5:30-8 p.m. on Dec. 24. New on the menu here are gnocchi with braised duck, cauliflower soup and crispy fried oysters over cornbread with bacon habanero aioli. Reservations: 704-525-0881.

Sir Edmund Halley’s

Sir Edmund Halley’s (4151 Park Road) will offer holiday specials from 5 p.m.-midnight on Christmas Eve. Expect wild mushroom soup, bacon wrapped scallops, roasted half chicken and grilled medallions of beef. Reservations are accepted but not required at 704-525-7775.


Vivace (1100 Metropolitan Ave.) will serve a traditional, Feast of the Seven Fishes meal on Dec. 22, 23 and 24. The seven-course, fish-based menu is $55 per person. Vivace’s regular menu will also be available Dec. 22-24. Reservations: 704-370-7755.
