Reid’s Fine Foods

Tapas 51

Chef Aaron Rivera of Tapas 51 (3415 S.C. 51, Fort Mill, S.C.) will be on Food Network’s “Beat Bobby Flay” at 10 p.m. Thursday; the restaurant will host a viewing party the same night. Tapas 51 kicks off their Yoga 51 series at 10 a.m. May 7. The donation-based yoga classes will feature bloody Marias, a Latin spin on bloody marysand sangria; first class benefits the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Cabo’s Mexican Cuisine

Cabo’s (6676 Carmel Road) will host a Cinco de Mayo party with lunch, dinner, drink specials and a DJ, 2:30 p.m.-2 a.m. Thursday.

Vida Cantina

Dogwood Southern Table

Dogwood (4905 Ashley Park Lane) is promoting N.C. cocktail culture by kicking off a guest bartender series in May. The lineup: May 9, Gary Crunkleton of Chapel Hill’s The Crunkleton; June 6, Zach Thomas of Raleigh’s The Foundation; and June 20, Shannon Healy of Durham’s Alley 26.

Sugar Shock

The 658 Center (3646 Central Ave.) will host Sugar Shock, a six-course dessert tasting menu from Charlotte’s top pastry chefs May 16. Proceeds will benefit Project 658 Culinary School and Community Feeding Project. Tickets are $65 at: www.sugarshock.com.

WP Kitchen + Bar

Nellie’s Southern Kitchen (100 N. Main St., Belmont), the new concept coming from the Jonas family, is hiring up to 100 positions leading up to its opening. Front- and back-of-the-house staff are needed. Applicants can stop by the Stowe Building (100 N. Main St., Belmont) 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday or Monday-Friday next week to fill out an application.

Old Pineville Food and Beverage

The Palm

Terra Vita

Terra Vita Food & Drink Festival of Chapel Hill will kick off Sept. 28 with a two-day symposium featuring panel discussions with the Jamie Kirk Hahn Foundation. The Cowfish

The Cowfish (4400 Sharon Road) has opened its newest location in Atlanta at 4400 Ashford Dunwoody Road at Perimeter Mall. The restaurant was founded in Charlotte by Alan Springate and Marcus Hall. Other locations include Raleigh and Orlando, Fla.
