Wayback Burgers

In an attempt to break the bad luck of Friday the 13th, Wayback Burgers of Matthews (929 Park Center Drive) will offer a free classic cheeseburger to customers with any variation of “luck” in their names (first, middle or last) on Friday.

Blue Restaurant & Bar

Blue (206 N. College St.) will host A Night in Ecuador, a fundraiser for the Earthquake Relief Fund, on Friday. The four-course dinner featuring live Latin music and a silent auction is $44.95 per person. Reservations: 704-927-2583.

Ruth’s Chris (6000 Fairview Road) will host an Anderson’s Conn Valley wine dinner with winemaker Todd Anderson on Sunday. The five-course menu with pairings is $99 per person. Reservations: 704-556-1115.

Reid’s Fine Foods

Reid’s (4331 Barclay Downs Drive) will host a five-course wine and dine dinner with chefs Chris Coleman of The Asbury and Paul Verica of Heritage Food & Drink joining Chef Lewis in the kitchen on Tuesday. Cost for the dinner with pairings is $85 per person. Reservations: 704-377-7686.

Bonterra Dining & Wine Room

Bonterra (1829 Cleveland Ave.) will host a Moet champagne dinner on May 26 with Rich Buchanan, manager of education for Moet Hennessy. The four-course dinner will be paired with select champagnes for $125 per person. Reservations: 704-333-9463.

Mac’s Speed Shop

Mac’s (2511 South Blvd.) was named Grand Champion at SouthPark’s Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival last weekend. Mac’s also took first place in the chicken, rib and pork competition at the festival. Mac’s opened its first restaurant in Charlotte in 2005.
