Charlotte 2nd in nation?

Charotte ranks as the nation’s second-fastest-growing city in food and drink events that have been ticketed through Eventbrite, the company reports.

Eventbrite is a platform on which you can buy tickets to an array of events, home tours to fundraisers, concerts to family reunions (no, really). And while Miami topped us with a 117 percent bump, Charlotte weighs in with sales of 77 percent more tickets to food and drink events, based on the company’s analyzing of 40,000+ events in 2014. (It reports the number of food/drink events nationally rose by 47 percent -- but of course, that’s events on this platform, so it’s hard to make apples to apples of it.)

Also reported: Pop-up dining is the biggest surge within the category.

And for the competitive among you (us), the rest of the top 10: Las Vegas, Orlando, Houston, Atlanta, Washington, Minneapolis, Philadelphia and Chicago (with a measly 50 percent growth).
