Students graduating from the Art Institute of Charlotte’s culinary bachelor of arts program will cook a 10-course dinner June 1 for $75. The meal will benefit Friendship Trays, which provides meals to more than 800 people in the Charlotte area, and part of the cost is tax-deductible.
On the menu, which will use local foodstuffs, including produce from the Friendship Trays garden: duck confit, blackeyed pea cake, summer squash bisque, melon salad, N.C. whitefish, veal cutlet and a peach trio for dessert. Graduates are Amy Stephens, Anthony Roosen, Bryan Hancock, Natasha Francis and Nivit Tipvaree.
