Vegan farm-to-table meal slated, at farm

June 5 brings a dinner at Bell’s Best Farm in Monroe of five vegan courses and an optional wine pairing. Chef/founder Julia Simon of Charlotte’s Nourish – which delivers vegan prepared foods and uses locally-sourced, organic ingredients – will cook.

With vegan-friendly wine pairings, the meal will be $75, alone, it’s $60. The planned menu (though it may change) includes blueberry mustard with hummus; warm field pea salad with boiled peanuts and cashew cheese; gazpacho; coconut corn risotto cake with peach barbecue oyster and shiitake mushrooms; and berry cobbler.
