Wine-etc. dinners coming up

▪ Ruth’s Chris hosts a five-course Burly wine dinner Oct. 3 for $110. Among the courses: fig-stuffed chicken roulade with 2013 Sauvignon Blanc; and bistro steak with lobster-crab topping and bacon hollandaise with 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon. 6000 Fairview Road; 704-556-1115.

▪ Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend will bring French winemaker Louis-Fabrice Latour to town Oct. 20 for a Latour grand tasting and dinner at LaCa Projects on West Morehead Street. The tasting will be limited to 50 people, and 18 wines will be offered: 10 Premier Cru and eight Grand Cru, with seven of the 18 from 2013 (some not yet available to the public). Porcupine Provisions will prepare a five-course dinner with six more wine pairings. Wines will be available for purchase, as well, and two live auctions are planned. ▪ Passion8 hosts a four-course Muddy River Distillery dinner Oct. 21, featuring craft cocktails with each course. $55; 704-910-3161; www.thepassion8.com. Also coming up here: a blind tasting for Halloween. Four courses Oct. 31, $45. (And Passion8 wins the first-to-promote-Thanksgiving this year: It will serve three courses for $42 per person (kids 8 and younger free).
