What to Watch on Wednesday: NOVA examines ‘Dawn of Humanity’

NOVA: Dawn of Humanity (9 p.m., UNC-TV) – A special episode covering the discovery of ancient human ancestors in South Africa — the Homo naledi. Features exclusive footage of the hair-raising descent deep into a nearly inaccessible cave to retrieve more than 1,500 hominid fossils.

MasterChef (8 p.m., Fox) – Two cooks create a three-course meal and one is named the season’s winner.

America’s Got Talent (9 p.m., NBC) – A winner is revealed in the Season 10 finale.
