Better Call Saul (10 p.m., AMC) – I would wonder how this show could be any better in the second season than it was in its first, but it’s by Vince Gilligan, who brought us “Breaking Bad,” so I’m without doubt. In tonight’s Season 2 premiere, Jimmy and Kim’s relationship takes turn, and Mike feels it’s best to sever his affiliation with an unrestrained associate.

Also on tonight . . .

Grammy Awards (8 p.m., CBS) – The 58th annual awards show, hosted by LL Cool J, features a number of North Carolina nominees (J. Cole, Rapsody, Rhiannon Giddens). Adele and Kendrick Lamar are among those expected to perform. Also, Earth, Wind & Fire receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The X-Files (8 p.m., Fox) – After an art gallery bombing, Mulder and Scully must find a way to communicate with a comatose bomber in hopes of preventing more attacks.

Major Crimes (9 p.m., TNT) – A young woman and her 3-year-old son are shot to death while driving through gang territory in the wrong colored car.
