What to Watch on Saturday: Oprah, Shonda on ‘Essence’ Awards show

Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards (10 p.m., OWN) – An awards show spotlighting the top black women in film and television, which took place earlier this week in Beverly Hills. Look for appearances by Oprah Winfrey and Shonda Rhimes, and a performance by Leon Bridges.

Pit Bulls and Parolees (10 p.m., Animal Planet) – A family contacts Tia after seeing their dog rescued in an earlier episode and want to bring him home. Also, Earl’s sudden change in behavior forces Tia’s hand.

Bandit Patrol (10 p.m., Nat Geo Wild) – The second season of this series following dramatic and uplifting stories of wildlife rehabilitation in western Kentucky.
