It is set at a Charlotte ad agency and is full of Charlotte references. … Richard Neer, a New York sports-talk radio host who lives in Mooresville, also has a Charlotte-centric book out, “The Master Builders,” second in his mystery series about private detective Riley King. It’s about a corrupt developer enjoying Charlotte’s construction boom and is rich with local references from Davidson to Ballantyne. …

Logan Sherrill, who joined WJZY (Channel 46) in January 2014, will depart in December to become weekend news anchor at the CBS affiliate in Roanoke, Va. … Trish Williford, who left WSOC early this year, joins the anchor desk at the NBC affiliate in Savannah, Ga. … Garrett Heaberlin is named publisher of Charlotte Magazine. He moves up from Atlanta Magazine, where he was ad director. …

“House Hunters” (10 p.m. Thursday, HGTV) features a segments on a couple moving from California to Charlotte. Among the local sites visited is Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.
