Among this month’s primetime Emmy winners is William Hill of Cornelius, who won as producer of outstanding comedy of the year, HBO’s “Veep.” Hill got into the business as a technician on the 1984 Steven King thriller “Firestarter,” filmed in Western North Carolina. …

After nearly 30 years in the forecasting business, WCCB’s (Channel 18) Reg Taylor retires from TV this week. He’s joining his wife in managing their real estate business. Taking over as chief meteorologist is Greg Armbrecht, who joined the station as weekend forecaster a year ago. …

Anniversary of note: Andy Holt marks 20 years as pilot of WSOC’s (Channel 9) Chopper 9. Holt learned his craft by flying H-53 Sea Dragons while in the Navy. … Former WJZY (Channel 46) morning reporter Charity Bailey starts at the syndicated “Right This Minute,” taking the spot vacated by Beth Troutman, who started last week as co-anchor on WCNC (Channel 36). …

Danielle Trotta, the former weekend sports anchor at WBTV (Channel 3) who moved up to Fox Sports 1 in Charlotte, debuts as a sideline reporter for Fox’s NFL Arizona at Cleveland game on Sunday. …
