Media Movers: 3 more depart Fox46 news team

Continuing turnover in the WJZY (Channel 46) news department: Caitlin Lockerbie leaves the morning show for an anchoring role in Memphis, Tenn., and reporter Neima Abdulahi – who was part of the start-up staff when Fox46 launched its news department in January 2014 – departs for the NBC affiliate in Atlanta. Abdulahi, an Elon graduate, won first place last year from the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas for general news. Also departing is reporter Ashlee McGeehan, who came to the station last year from Erie, Pa. …

Longtime WBTV (Channel 3) reporter Steve Crump has been named journalist of the year by the National Association of Black Journalists, citing his coverage of last year’s church shooting in Charleston and his stories from Selma, Ala., for the 50th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday” at the Edmund Pettus Bridge. … Brian Anderson, the Mooresville-based artist behind the Dog Eat Doug comic strip, has published a fourth volume of strips titled “Enter the Baby.” …

Adam Witten will take over play-by-play for Appalachian State University football and Randy Jackson will do men’s basketball, replacing 15-year veteran David Jackson, who said he wanted to spend more time with family. “My time in the booth,” he said, “combined with my administrative role, did not always provide for the best life balance.” …
