Yolian Ortiz Van Derdys joins WJZY (Channel 46) from SCETV in Rock Hill, where she was a producer. She replaces morning co-host Caitlin Lockerbie, who left for the ABC affiliate in Memphis, Tenn. … Rachel Brown will be joining WCNC (Channel 36) as 5:30 p.m. co-anchor with Bill McGinty and serve as reporter for the 11 p.m. newscast. She comes from the ABC affiliate in South Bend, Ind. …

American Advertising Federation Charlotte will honor Ruth Castleberry of Castleberry Consults for her four decades in the city’s advertising industry with the group’s Silver Medal Award at a luncheon Thursday. … WBTV (Channel 3) reporter Steve Crump returned to his native Louisville, Ky., over the weekend to help out at the sister Raycom station for Kentucky Derby coverage. Crump, an avid thoroughbred fan, served at the famed track’s paddock with the station’s sports anchor Kent Taylor, another Louisville native. He and Crump attended rival Catholic schools. …
