Shifts in morning personalities underway at WBTV

Ben Williamson joins WBTV (Channel 3) from the CBS affiliate in Savannah, Ga., as reporter and weekend morning anchor. He fills the openings left by Brody O’Connell, who anchored Sunday mornings and has moved to Michigan for a job outside television, and Kristen Miranda, who anchored Saturday mornings and will now move to all weekday mornings where she will host a new show the station expects to announce in August. … Producer LaToya Boyce leaves WBTV after 11 years to join the marketing department for the Iredell Health System. …

Erick Weber, former morning host at WJZY (Channel 46), joins the Fox affiliate in Orlando, Fla., as anchor on “Good Day Orlando.” … Ned Hibberd, former WJZY assistant news director, joins WCNC (Channel 36) as executive producer. …

Duncan McFadyen leaves the news staff of WFAE-FM (NPR, 90.7) after four years to pursue opportunities in New York City. … WFAE won second place for breaking news in the annual Public Radio News Directors awards for its coverage of the Randall Kerrick trial. … Erica Parkerson, former morning co-host on the old WRCM-FM (“New Life” 91.9), joins WLFJ-FM (“His Radio” 89.3) in Greenville, S.C., in afternoons. …

Geof Knight of the Paul Schadt morning show on WKKT-FM (“Kat” 96.9) will be in the cast of “Peter and the Starcatcher” at the Little Theater of Gastonia in September. … Former Time Warner Cable News reporter Adam Rhew joins Charlotte Magazine as associate editor, replacing Lisa Rab, who will continue to write for the magazine on a freelance basis.
