Now that we\u2019re in the middle of February, we can expect a lot of rain here in the South \u2014 and incidentally, there\u2019s plenty of that in the forecast for this week. If your old rain jacket is just about worn out, or if you\u2019re simply looking for a stylish-yet-functional new one, I highly recommend this Urban Republic Women\u2019s Raincoat<\/a>, which you can get for under $50 on Amazon.<\/p>

I bought this rain jacket in 2022, and to this day it\u2019s still the only one I ever wear. So, how do I love it? Let\u2019s count the ways.<\/p>

First things first: I initially bought this Urban Republic rain jacket<\/a> because it came in red, which is my favorite color. But if you\u2019re not a fan of red, you can choose from six other colors: yellow, black, navy blue, army green, baby pink and lilac purple. This jacket also comes in a wide range of sizes, from small to 3XL. I\u2019m a busty person and normally wear a size large in women\u2019s shirts, but I opted for an XL because I prefer my jackets to be nice and roomy. And for me, the XL works perfectly.<\/p>

The exterior of this jacket<\/a> is made of water-resistant polyurethane, while the interior has a striped polyester lining \u2014 mine is charcoal gray and white, which complements the bright red pretty stunningly. It also has a lined drawstring hood and a front zipper with a button tab overlay, plus two sizable pockets (with button closures) that give you plenty of room to store things including your keys, phone and a pair of gloves. While it isn\u2019t technically \u201cwaterproof,\u201d I\u2019ve taken plenty of walks in light-to-moderate rain wearing this jacket and stayed nice and dry underneath.<\/p>

I love that this jacket is thick enough to guard against cold drafts of wind, but not so thick that it\u2019s uncomfortable to wear over a T-shirt on warmer days. It\u2019s also long enough to cover my derriere when I throw it on over a pair of leggings. And the cherry on top? When I roll up the sleeves, the striped lining peeks out and gives an effortlessly chic touch to a basic outfit. <\/p>

I\u2019m not the only one who loves this jacket, by the way. The over 1,800 five-star Amazon ratings seem to agree with my assessment. \u201cIt’s a very well made lightweight rain jacket,\u201d says one satisfied reviewer<\/a>. \u201cGreat coverage from the rain and wind and a bit oversized, which is great so you can wear a thick hoodie or sweater underneath on those really cool, damp days.\u201d<\/p>
