Charlotte traffic: Three wrecks snarling traffic on I-85 in Gaston County

Three wrecks are snarling traffic on Interstate 85 northbound at Lowell-McAdenville Exit 23 in Gaston County Thursday morning, the State Highway Patrol said.

The first wreck was reported about 6:15 a.m., and traffic at 7:30 a.m. was backed up to the U.S. 321 exit in Gastonia. Motorists should seek alternate routes. No information was available on the other two wrecks.

At 7 a.m., a disabled vehicle was blocking the left lane of Interstate 77 southbound near Exit 28 in Cornelius.

A wreck was blocking the left lane of I-77 southbound near Remount Road, Exit 8, in Charlotte.

And Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were at a wreck with injuries at Nevin and Mallard Creek roads in the University City area.

Shortly after 8 a.m., Interstate 77 southbound at Remount Road in Charlotte was congested because of a wreck.
