Charlotte International House leader to leave

Denise Long will soon step down as head of Charlotte’s International House to take over the role of executive director of United Way of Henderson County, headquartered west of Charlotte in Hendersonville, N.C.

Long said her last day with the nonprofit will be March 17, and she was assume her role with United Way on April 1.

International House’s associate director, Rusty Reynolds, will take over as acting leader while a search is conducted for a new executive director, agency officials said.

Long began as executive director of International House in November of 2010. Prior to that, she had been head of NC LEAF, a statewide loan repayment assistance program for public interest attorneys, and SAFE SPACE, a four-county domestic violence program.

International House officials say candidates interested in the executive director job can apply confidentially online by emailing cover letter and resume to edposition@ihclt.org by March 13.
