N.C. State’s better when senior guard Ralston Turner is hitting from 3-point range but Turner has been slowed recently by a knee injury. He labored through 30 minutes in Wednesday’s loss to Virginia and missed all six of his 3-point attempts. Louisville’s defense is in the same category as Virginia’s and the Cardinals will be geared to make it tough for Turner to get going. Joe Giglio

UNC is expecting a tough, physical game, and so its practices were more physical than usual this week. Pittsburgh’s strength is on offense, where it ranks 38th nationally in offensive efficiency, according to kenpom.com. Only 12 teams nationally commit fewer turnovers, on average, than Pitt, which is also a formidable offensive rebounding team.
