Mecklenburg Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Robert Johnston and Mecklenburg Chief District Judge Fritz Mercer will give overviews of their respective courts. Clodfelter is set to discuss the state's role in the criminal justice system.
Wednesday's meeting marks the third time in as many weeks where task force members have heard from top leaders of criminal justice agencies in the county. Previous speakers include District Attorney Peter Gilchrist, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney Monroe and Sheriff Chipp Bailey.
Mecklenburg County commissioners appointed the task force to offer recommendations on ways to improve the local justice system. The group will present its ideas this fall.
