Top administrators in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will host a Friday farewell bash for departing Deputy Superintendent Maurice Green, but they won't write a public check for the festivities.
The Mint Museum of Art is donating space, while Superintendent Peter Gorman's executive staff and Bovis Lend Lease, the district's partner in school construction, will pay for the rest, said CMS spokeswoman LaTarzja Henry. Cost estimates aren't in yet, she said.
